Sticks and stones may break your bones but names will never hurt you. Who came up with that sing-song line? While it's an admirable philosophy to embrace, it isn't always possible. Sometimes you can be strong, you can have unimpeachable self esteem, and you can have a solid belief in whatever it is that you're doing, but all of that doesn't necessarily prevent you from being wounded by cruel words. If someone has hurt your feelings recently, you may want to take some time to lick those wounds. But don't bow down to that feeling and let it take you over.
